WELCOME BACK, EVERYONE

To another fun-filled year at Ardenwood Adventure Time!
It is great to see so many familiar faces, and of course, meet some new friends this year!

We are having a lot of fun with some great projects and games, and our room is looking especially cheerful and bright, thanks to all of our A.T. artists!

SEPTEMBER THEMES WERE
September 4-6......... The Name Game
September 9-13....... Daze of Summer
September 16-20..... Circle of Friends
September 23-27..... Color My World

Some of the fun things that we did in September included making nameplates with Rona, friendship bracelets with Melissa, stained glass butterflies with Amanda, watercolor paintings with Liza, and crocheting with Makey. We also had a ball playing basketball with Jerrilyn and dodge ball with Lindsay. All in all, it was a great start back into the school year!

OCTOBER THEMES ARE
October 1-4 Falling Leaves
October 7-11 In a Spider's Web
October 14-18 Ghosts, Ghouls, and Goblins
October 21-25 Pumpkin Patch
October 28-31 Happy Haunting

Here is some of the great stuff we are doing in October: Makey is taking the kids on a nature walk and making leaf prints with the treasures they find. Melissa and the kids are making candy corn flower pots, while Rona is making haunted houses. Liza is creating lanterns with the kids, and Jerrilyn is making lollipop ghosts. Lindsay has the kids running with Ghost in the Graveyard, while Amanda is playing Steal the Pumpkin.

This year Halloween falls on Thursday, so we will have an
ADVENTURE TIME HALLOWEEN PARTY
The kids are invited to bring a costume (or part of it) to wear at Adventure Time. We will also have face painting and play some games, including a candy walk, donut-on-a-string, pin the face on the pumpkin, and we'll taste a little witch's brew!

KINDER TIME
Our lucky little kinders get to have a lot of time alone with us! Or should we say, we're so lucky to get to spend so much time with our wonderful kinders! Our kinder activities are different for each day of the week: Monday is art and we draw and paint. On Tuesdays we have music, and Liza is teaching the kinders a little keyboarding! On Wednesdays, Rona is teaching clay sculpting and model magic, Thursdays we have movement and dance, and on Fridays, we cook! Our kinders are walked to class and picked up from school every day by one of our Adventure Time teachers. They have a snack at school and eat lunch at A.T. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the time your kinder spends here with us, please feel free to let us know!

HOMEWORK HEROES
Please encourage your child to sign up for our Homework Heroes Club! We
have a special quiet area where they may sit and do their homework, and best
of all, we have tons of great prizes and other incentives! They have to do
homework sometime, right? Why not do it at A.T. and get a prize?!

CAUTION
Please remember not to leave any valuables or purses in your car while picking up your child from A.T. In past years we have had thefts of purses while parents were picking up children. It only takes a moment for it to happen, so keep your belongings safe-turn your engine off, lock the doors, and bring your purses, cellular phones, etc., in with you. Police say car windows have been broken for just a pack of gum.

NO TOYS
Please do not allow your child to bring any games, toys, or electronic items to A.T. They are not allowed in school, and they are not allowed at A.T. We have plenty of games, toys, and activities to keep your child busy during the day.

Until next time, watch out for those goblins and ghosties.
Happy Halloween!

Your A.T. Staff,
Amanda, Melissa, Desiree, Makey, Liza, Lindsay, Jerrilyn, and Rona
