Welcome to a fun and exciting new year!
We'd like to welcome
several new families to Kaiser A.T. as well as give lots of hugs to all
of our returning families. We are enjoying hearing about your summer adventures.
Let's take a look at some of the wonderful things that happened in September
and this month. Let's start with our themes.

In September
we made summer dairies, All About Me books, leaf prints,
kaleidoscopes, rainbow murals, flip books, finger paintings, fuse beads,
glue art, name art, and crayon batiks.
In October we are having an
exciting time making papier-mâché suns, crayon transfers, raised
foil art, glitter designs, cornhusk dolls, a harvest mural, footprint ghosts,
flying bats, 3-D pumpkins, Saran-wrapped ghosts, and we are playing spooky
musical chairs.
K-Time
This year we not only have one K-Time, but two. Our K-Times
are very special in that we get to spend time with only the kindergartners,
learning and exploring. We will do art such as clay magnets, scribble art,
splatter art, finger painting, and lots of drawing. We also will be having
lots of story time. We'll read Roald Dahl books. If you are not sure who
he is, think of Willie Wonka or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We also
will put our thinking caps on and write fairy tales. We also will go outside
and learn about sportsmanship and working as a team. We will play dodge
ball, kickball, 4-square, duck, duck, goose, SPUD, and we'll run relay races.
Oh yeah, for those who need a little extra help, we will practice jumping
rope.
K-Parents: please do not send lunches that need to
be heated, and please, no glass containers.
The Playground
The Playground is a very popular place to be. The children
will have the opportunity to play several of the following games: kickball,
3-flies up, basketball, football, capture the flag, monkey in the middle,
wallball, dodge ball, hopscotch, and relay races.
Kitchen Corner
Cooking is a wonderful experience with the children. We are
learning about kitchen safety, rules, and cleaning up, as well as enjoying
wonderful food. For starters, we will make mac+cheese, spaghetti, stir-
fry, casseroles, and yummy desserts such as root beer floats or soda fountain
surprises.
